Spellbinding: Sweet Dreams and Calming Intentions

0

I loved making my Limited Edition Spiritual Skullerfly Crystal Wreaths last Summer. I was inspired to find a way to use my talents to spread some light, love, healing intentions and a little magic into the world. Each one being inspired by the crystal rosary beads I chose.

Since there are so many wonderful crystal stones out there I thought why stop at 4.. why not make another one that may call out to someone that needs it. My end goal was to create this decorative piece of art that would help to invoke and manifest sweet dreams and a sense of calm for whomever it speaks to.

So I decided to go with my favorite bedside stone… Howlite. It is also known to help heal the crown chakra.

Howlite being a beautiful mix of whites and grey I went with the calming colors of white and silver, which are quite perfect with it being a very snowy winter this year. The Skullerfly’s wings have iridescent glitter on them and the skull eyes and body are accented in silver glitter. It has faux twigs that are dipped in silver glitter and ice crystal like beads for extra sparkle. Like the other wreaths, this one also features a clear crystal point and has been blessed with incense. As the others were charged by the Strawberry Full Moon, this one has been charged by last night’s Snow Full Moon.

If this special piece speaks to you it can be purchased in my Etsy Shop. It is perfect for hanging near your bed or anywhere you want to feel a sense of calm. To purchase one of my remaining Spiritual Skullerfly Crystal Wreaths from this Summer you can purchase them in my Etsy Shop as well. Remember that these are Limited Edition which means they are one-of-a-kind and only one of each will be made. Each one comes with an informational card designed by me that talks about the healing powers of the rosary crystal stone. This makes them perfect for if you are looking for a pick me up or sentimental gift.

Spellbinding: Spiritual Skullerfly Crystal Wreaths

2

So I know I mentioned in a past post that I was currently working on some creations that I started before everyone was forced to stay home due to the corona virus pandemic. I completed them during quarantine and have been going crazy not being able to share them with my Freaky Fanatics. However it was very important to me to get photos of them outside.

Ironically with the world in chaos I feel like everyone could use some extra healing right now so being able to get out to photograph them came at perfect timing. My husband and I took a trip to a secluded forest area and he helped me get some good shots of them for all of you. When they were hanging in the trees they looked so magical as though they were left their by fairies which is exactly what I had hoped for.

Created during Litha, blessed with incense and charged by the Strawberry Full Moon, here they are.. my Limited Edition Spiritual Skullerfly Crystal Wreaths!

Spitting Image: Maybe Today Satan

I will start off by saying (once again) that I have never really been a fan of re-makes and re-boots. However, I will allow you to quote me as saying that the “re-boot” of Sabrina The Teenage Witch is quite the exception. Those of us who grew up on the Archie comics, the cartoon and even embraced the 90s TV sitcom got to enjoy the cutesy version of Sabrina Spellman.

Now as adults we get to bask in the sinful glory of a MUCH darker side of what it could have been like to be in Sabrina’s half-witch half-mortal shoes. So in other words, The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina on Netflix is the version I had always hoped for but never got (sorry Melissa Joan Hart but I did love you in Clarissa Explains It All!). The first time I laid eyes on The Academy of Unseen Arts I was like “Screw Hogwarts! Sign me up here!” (I even have an alumni sweatshirt cause I am a dork like that). So I guess what I am trying to say is that I really dig this show. I think a lot of it has to do with all the incredible Biblical, Pagen, Horror Movie, Archie and Riverdale references that they incorporate and cross reference on top of the story line. Some being super obvious and others as hidden Easter Eggs for fans who really “get it”.

That leads me to my latest art piece inspired by the beautifully talented Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina. I didn’t want to just draw her in her everyday look. If you know a thing or two about the show you will definitely get the play on words that I am using for the title as you take in what I have drawn. I call it “Maybe Today Satan”…

For those who have not started watching this show yet, I will not give away too much. What I will say is that this split face portrait is inspired by Sabrina’s two royalty looks as the Queen of Hell aka Sabrina Spellman – Morningstar! This piece was done in pencils and chalk pastels.

Are you a good witch or a bad witch? Either way prints and shirts of this art piece are now available in my Amazon shop for you to rock proudly as either! You can also see more of my portrait work in the Spitting Image section of my portfolio website!
