Creature Feature: Returning to Housewife of Horror

0

I am very excited to hear from horror host Housewife of Horror. This week they will be airing My Son The Vampire and she will also be wearing another one of my Dead Girl Decay barrettes on the show!

This wearable piece of art is a one-of-a-kind Lucy Westenra tribute barrette. The center is a rate vintage, porcelain cameo that I hand painted to resemble Lucy and then accented it with red and black flower petals and feathers to complete a victorian style pin-up look.

As a huge fan of Bram Stoker’s Dracula I was tempted to keep this barrette and not actually put it up in my shop. But seeing how perfect it looks on Housewife of Horror I am so glad that I did. Also just knowing it is owned by someone who appreciates it as much as I do makes me very happy. The fact she has chosen to wear my handmade creations on her show for a 2nd time is an honor!

So tune in THIS Wednesday, November 13th at 7pm CST at EerieLateNight.com or follow the directions on the Housewife of Horror website to access the programming though your Roku! Don’t forget to also follow the show on social media and leave them some love on there for being so supportive of my work. Share this post while you are at it to help them get more viewers this week and every week!

Spitting Image: Night On The Town

1

I just finished another split face portrait and just in the nick of time. See I have always wanted to draw Doug Jones but he has portrayed so many incredible characters I never could decide which one I wanted to draw. His ability to emerge himself into the makeup and transform himself into whatever character he plays not only blows my mind but is really inspiring. He is not your typical actor playing a role, he is the role.

When he appeared on the TV adaptation of my favorite show What We Do In The Shadows as Baron Afanas I knew this was the character I wanted to create on paper. The Baron makes you fear him, love him, laugh with him and mourn for him. He also has a lot of wrinkles and I knew this would not just be a typical portrait but would give me a challenge. I also thought I had time to draw him and then I heard he was added as a guest to a convention we will be attending. I got so excited to meet him that of corpse my drawing hands went to work!

I completed the art piece just in time to gift it to him this weekend. I call it “Night On The Town”

That’s right Freaky Fanatics, I teamed up with another printer and this one specializes in stickers. I had them send me some samples to see how my portraits would print out as stickers to make them available to those who have been requesting them. I was so impressed I placed an order for 60  3″ x 3″ (approx. size) stickers. There are only 10 of each made of the below art pieces available in my Amazon shop! Get them before they are gone! Once this Set 1 sells out I will introduce a 2nd set so you can collect them all!
