Back Bone: Team Rosie Update!

0

I took this photo last year at my Uncle Randy’s birthday dinner. Little did we know it would be the last time we would all be together to celebrate with him. As you can see Rosie is front and center and he is smirking at her as my Aunt Mary holds up the cake as we all sang Happy Birthday to him. She always had a way to make him smile.

I share this photo with all of you because this Friday would’ve been Uncle Randy’s birthday and ironically enough we have moved into the 1st place spot for the most money raised! What a wonderfully timed milestone. This is all due to your support, shares, and donations!  He would be so happy and proud of what we have accomplished so far and would be rooting for us to keep going until we reach our team goal!

If you have not donated yet please know that any amount is ok. This is not about who donates the most but about giving what you can. It all adds up and it all goes to the same wonderful cause.

If you have already donated please continue to share my fundraising link https://give.classy.org/nicatnight with your connections on social media an/or email. Your shares are what informs people what we are trying to accomplish. It’s free to share it and only takes a moment of your time. That moment could lead to wonderful things. Look what it’s done so far!

Thank you again to everyone who has helped us get to where we are right now! We could not have done it without you. My family is so grateful for all of your support.

Go TEAM ROSIE!

Hardcore Hearse Club Show 2019

0

Lily Munster Rain Day.gifSaturday was our Hardcore Hearse Club‘s big annual hearse show at Brauerhouse.  Despite it being a rainy day the show was still a big success with lots of people coming and going throughout the day into the evening hours. But then again storms don’t scare us strange and unusual folks!

It was great to see familiar faces who came out specifically to support us. As you know I have been working endlessly on creating and getting my inventory ready and Frank has been working hard at getting Frankenhearse running smoothly and looking sharp! By the time the show started, we were exhausted. At the show, we were exhausted and after the 2HyvfAfshow, we were even more exhausted ha ha. So to have our friends come out to support us means just as much if not more then the sales I make at my table. It’s like my favorite episode of The Office when Pam decides to do the art show and Michael Scott comes out and supports her. I literally cry EVERY time I watch it. I know exactly what it feels like to be afraid but still, put yourself and your work out there. And how much it means to have people you care about come out and show they believe in you.

I was vending solo this year (my volunteer partner in crime had to go to a wedding) but I was kept busy with all of the people who visited my table. It was great to hear “oh wow you made this?” or “you drew this?” and to know that so many of you chose to purchase some of my art or handmade creations vs. other things people were selling that you can get retail at the store or online. It speaks volumes! So many of you purchased art prints this year and it has really got me itching to pick up my drawing pencils because when life gets in the way, it’s the people like you that keep me inspired!

Here are a few shots of my table set up. This year I was between 2 other vendors who I befriended.. of corpse!

The incredible dress I am wearing is from my all-time favorite clothing line Sourpuss Clothing! As soon as I saw they had a GREEN and WHITE HEARSE dress I knew I had to have it. Not just for the show but because it totally matches our Frankenhearse! I even wrote to the company and told them I really wanted to wear it for the show and they made sure it got to me on time! This dress is gonna get a lot of use at future car shows!

And speaking of Frankenhearse.. here are some shots our friends took of our beast outside on display during the show.

And last but not least, here is a great Freaky Fanatic photo posted by Ashley who purchased one of my “Friends Til The End” portrait prints at the show and gifted it.  So awesome to see how much he loved it!

Did you buy something from me at the show? Let’s see your pictures! I would love to feature you on my site as well! Also, keep an eye out on my Amazon shop as I will be adding some unique items that were left over from the show!

Creature Feature: Who Do You Love Horror Shop Contest Update

0

As of yesterday Morbidly Beautiful Horror announced that voting was closed and that I am still one of the top 5 shops to receive the most votes in their Who Do You Love Horror Shop contest. The other 4 shops are incredible and to be side by side with them is a huge honor. The winner will be announced on Friday so stay tuned!

wp_ss_20170720_0002

I want to take this time to thank all of my Freaky Fanatics who either took a minute of their time to vote on Instagram or if you don’t have Instagram shared the link with others to get more votes. I know your time is precious and I want you to know that the time you took to show others you support my work means everything to me. You never know what could open bigger doors for me from things like this and to be nominated in general by you guys is an honor in itself. I could not do what I do or be where I am today with my art if it was not for all of your support.

Thank you for showing the world the potential one girl can have. As an artist who hand makes everything herself it really is hard to compete with commercialized and big names but you guys continue to inspire me. I love you all!

And a big congrats to the other shops in the finals! I love all of your work and even own a few things from a couple of these shops. So when your not visiting mine please take some time to visit them as well.

Hardcore Hearse Club Show 2016

5

Just wanted to share some photos from over the weekend during my 1st vending experience at the Hardcore Hearse Club – Hearses Show. I vended both Saturday and Sunday. It was a good thing I did because the heat was so uncomfortable on Saturday that I felt ill from it and had to shut shop down 2 hours early (show ended at 8pm and I closed down at 6pm). From what I heard I was not the only one. I did pretty well seeing I was there an hour earlier then the other vendors for set up and it was already almost 90 degrees at 10 am when we packed up the car earlier in the morning.

I was really happy how well my booth came together and got loads of compliments on it. My husband is such a god sent for helping me set it all up. On top of it taking most of it all down himself when I got sick later on. All day long he made sure I was doing ok, had enough to keep me hydrated, spraying me down with a water bottle and making sure I had a cold rag on my neck at all times. I love that man!

One of the main reasons I had to be there earlier then the other vendors is because we were also displaying Frankenhearse. Darlene was a doll and reserved us a special area and it worked out perfectly for unloading! We ended up using the back up tarp to block some of the sun and we were actually shaded by some trees with helped a lot. Having the gas station directly behind us for washroom breaks and ice/drink runs was also very convenient! At one point when I was starting to get sick Frank actually took me over there to stand in the beer freezer while Dad and Diane watched over my booth. They came out and bared the heat with us almost all day! Such troopers!

Hearse Show (8)

We made sure to put my new decal on the back of the hearse the night before and were so happy with how it looked.  Wilson Graphics never disappoints!

Hearse Show (15)

Despite the heat there were a lot of people there. I was surprised because of the heat but not surprised since this particular hearse show never disappoints and is one not to miss. Lots of hearses, lots of spectators, a decent amount of vendors and the entertainment went on as planned. Unfortunately due to the heat I spent most of the day on Saturday under my shaded canopy with cold rags on my neck and trying to stay hydrated (due to my health issues I have to be very cautious of it). So I ended up missing a lot of stuff going on that day and a few things that evening when we left early but it was better safe than sorry. I was mostly disappointed that I missed my friend, Ron Fitzgerald‘s Illusion act. I was just grateful that the hotel we were staying at was right across the street. When Frank went over there earlier in the day to check us in he cranked the A/C so it had been running in our room all day! That, a cold shower and getting a decent meal in me made me feel so much better!

One of the other awesome things about this show is they never disappoint when it comes to their huge raffle baskets! This year I donated my Tim Burton Framed/Decorated Print and Jack Skellington Dead Girl Decay Barrette! They put it amongst some other really cool items!

Sunday was so much more comfortable weather wise. The only issue we had was with the breeze which we used tarps to take care of the sides of the canopy and we were all good. I also laid my framed portrait prints down and rearranged my set up to accommodate for it. I refilled any gaps from sold items with back up items I had packed away.

Hearse Show (11)

We got the same spot both days. Also this shot shows Frank’s RC Traxxas Hearse that he parked near Frankenhearse. When it was not parked he was driving it around the show with my business card on the hood! Did I mention I how much I love that man!

Hearse Show (18)

We were also pleasantly surprised to find out that after we had left early the night before, that Frankenhearse had won a prize. We were voted 2nd place hearse for best of show!! Such an honor with so many amazing rides there! Here we are proudly holding our trophy!

Hearse Show (7)

With the weather being nicer a lot more of our friends and family were able to come out on Sunday as well. Dad and Diane were there with us all morning and then others arrived later in the day. It meant a lot to me to have everyones support at my first vending event. My sister in law, Melissa captured this adorable photo of my great niece, Violet who showed up rocking an Aunt Nicole original in her hair!

Hearse Show (2)

Our friend Cathy captured this great shot of Frank and I in my booth as well..

Hearse Show (10)

The best part about vending was all the awesome new people I got to meet that paid my table a visit! Some made purchases, some networked for future events and tons of people took my card to check out the rest of my work online. I am really looking forward to working with some of them in the future. If any of you are reading this… THANK YOU!

Below is a shot that the club received that includes a little girl who insisted her Dad buy my Zombified Clown Mask. I could not be happier that it went to her. She loved it and was spotted wearing it at the show! The 2nd is a shot I took of my very first vending customer! She purchased a Dead Girl Decay Skull pin to match her awesome Cheshire Cat tank! I did not get photos of each of my customers which I am now kicking myself in the ass for. However these 2 pics sum up the range of how great the customers were!

On Sunday since it was much better weather wise I ventured out of my booth and Frank and I decided to get some more Hearse Club gear. But we also got some really killer new things for the house while supporting the other vendors. We got a Frankenstein blanket for our living room and some Frankenstein themed glasses to display on the shelf in our kitchen.

All in all we were exhausted and it was a lot of work preparing for for my first show. The heat wave put a damper on things but I am still very happy that I chose to wait to vend my first show until now. So many have asked me to do it and it meant a lot that my first show was also an opportunity to support our awesome club!

Keep an eye on my Etsy shop for new items! I had made some things to stock up for the show. Some of these items are still available and will be added soon. If you were at the show and want to know if something you saw on my table is still available, feel free to contact me directly! As always I am always available for custom orders as well!
