I worked hard this weekend to bring you 9 new, one of a kind items for purchase in my Etsy or Amazon shops. These are portrait necklaces handmade by yours cruelly…..
Each portrait was printed on plastic, hardened and then coated in resin to preserve the image. I wanted them to be unisex so I attached them each to ball chains. Since these are handmade, there is currently only 1 necklace of each piece available so get one while they last!
And stay tuned! More necklaces of my other portraits to come soon! So if there is a specific portrait you would like to see as a necklace that is not available yet, please comment on this blog with your feedback!
As you all know my Freaky Fanatic (AKA happy customer) photos always make me so happy when I receive them. Today was no exception. I just received this photo from Paul in MO who is proudly holding up the 2 Spitting Image portrait prints he purchased in my Etsy shop. Paul also left me 2 wonderful reviews …
Thank you Paul!! You rock!!

Today we celebrated my Dad’s birthday by going to see Labyrinth on the big screen. A wonderful tribute to David Bowie by the theater but also a really memorable way to celebrate with my Dad as well. He was the one who first introduced me to Labyrinth as a young batling (it came out when I was 5 and I think I literally wore out the VHS) and to this day it is still my all time favorite movie (thank God DVDs hold up so well ha ha). To see it on the big screen 30 years later was unforgettable.
We also gave him his birthday gift today. It was another model project I did with my husband, Frank. He built it, I painted it and Dad loved it!
It is of Big Daddy Roth’s Drag Nut complete with Monster and Rat Fink. My Dad set it up as soon as he got home and sent me this picture. I of course immediately added it to the Remains of my portfolio site.
I know I just posted this portrait in tribute to David Bowie’s birthday on Friday, but I feel the need to do it again after the terrible news of his passing (shakes fist at cancer..how dare you take another legend from us). I call this one “It’s Only Forever” because of the movie Labyrinth but I feel it is rather fitting of the way I feel right now about losing such a legend who not only was musically amazing but set the bar for all of us to be ourselves and not care what others think.
As you all know from my Labyrinth obsession that he filled my childhood with imagination and hope when he joined forces with Jim Henson and Brian Froud by transforming into Jareth. That movie was an escape for me as child and to this day is still my all time favorite movie. I often wished he would come take me away even during times of adulthood 🙂
Thank you for bringing music and magic into my life. For reminding me it’s ok to be myself and that I can be a hero… even if it’s just for one day.
All Hail The Goblin King! May you be dancing magic dances forever!
