Raven: Officially an IT Girl!

0

As you all know from following my posts and checking out the Skinned page of my site, that I find makeup to be an every day necessity but also a form of art. A way to express oneself right on their face 🙂 infomercial-as-seen-on-tv-funnyAlso from past my Raven Review Skin Regimen post you also know that I classify myself as having pale, dry, sensitive skin.  So when it comes to makeup I tend to get picky. Well I am happy to say I have a new line of makeup I decided to give a try after falling for an infomercial (guilty pleasures) and I am quite pleased that I did.

So when I saw the infomercial for the IT Cosmetics Beautiful You Collection I was drawn in. The Bye Bye Foundation which was their main selling point appeared to be a tinted moisturizer with a decent amount of coverage. Now I don’t get mass break outs. I have pretty decent skin and actually get complimented on it a lot (not rubbing it in just giving you an idea on the coverage I need). I do however have pale Irish skin with Italian under eye circles and occasional break outs. So without makeup they ic-kit-5-piece-psstand out like a sore thumb. The fact that I have dry skin and this was an actual moisturizer with SPF and that I didn’t need a ton of coverage I thought why not give it a try. I signed up for the 5 piece trial size kit to see if I would like it. Let’s just say I already called them to renew the subscription in full size products (you customize the kit to your liking and can choose 3 – 8 products depending on what you can afford and need) and they automatically ship it to you based on how often you want them to. Now you can have department store quality products without the annoying snooty bitches behind the counter. They also break the cost of your kit into monthly payments. I wanted them all but I went with the 3 piece set due to my budget and figure when I run out of other things I will go back to them for other full size products and purchase them separately.

Here is my 3 piece kit broken down and why I chose them….

Bye Bye Concealer:

I never in a million years thought I could find a concealer that would match up to my Physicians Formula Conceal Fx (which I still love) but I have. This stuff covers and stays put! Perfect for my under eye circles and occasional blemishes. I of course get it in the lightest shade called Light. A little goes a long way so don’t be discouraged at how small the tube looks if you order it.

Bye Bye Foundation:

Pretty much the holy grail of the kit and the reason I tried it. This stuff foundn-use-apply-1blends like butter. So smooth and it feels like you don’t have anything on.The bottle design alone is superb. It’s in a tube and when you take the lid off it has a push down top that squirts out the exact amount you need. I use this right after I wash my face in replace of my CeraVe Renewing Lotion step (which I still use this lotion on my face at night after I wash my makeup off and all over my body cause its a miracle in a bottle) squirt it right on to the Heavenly Luxe Brush that came free with my kit (best brush I have ever used and now want all of their brushes). Dab it all over my face and then blend. If I need more coverage I repeat that step. It blends right over the concealer with no problem. Now keep in mind this is a tinted moisturizer. That means its gonna go on dewey (use powder to set it like I do if you want a more matte finish – see powder below). It also means you can build the coverage you need. My face feels amazing the minute it touches my skin. Soft to the touch and genuinely feels moisturized. I feel as though through out the day my face is reaping the benefits of it and soaking it in. The first time I have experienced having makeup that actually looks even better and more natural the longer its on your face. I put this on in the morning and it lasts ALL day! No re-applying! I of course get it in the lightest shade called Light.

Celebration Foundation Powder Compact:

face-celebration-foundationI was highly impressed by everything in the kit except the Bye Bye Pores Loose Powder. Don’t get me wrong it’s not terrible. It just doesn’t work for me. I received the lightest color and it was way too dark for me. Since there was a satisfaction guarantee I called and told them. They were awesome enough to send me the translucent shade for free to try. However, I found my dry skin didn’t like it too much. I am thinking it would be great for someone with more oilier skin or maybe even in the summer months. I contacted them again and they suggested I try the compact version instead. Which I did and LOVE! I prefer a less dewey finish so I use my Bare Minerals Powder Brush (which I plan to eventually replace with one from IT Cosmetics when I can afford it) and dab it into the compact and then do a light dusting all over my face to set the Bye Bye Foundation and take away the shine. It pretty much stands the test of my previous Gabriel Cosmetic’s Powder Foundation which I was using prior to this (and still love) as my stand alone foundation. I feel I could definitely use this alone as foundation the same way if I wanted to or was in a hurry. I also prefer it to the loose powder as I can take it with me. Gives you a flawless finish. I get this in the shade fair.

Here are the items that were in my trial kit that I will buy individually when I run out and the reasons why:

Vitality Face Disc:

facediskThis should be called Bye Bye Blush because this will be replacing my blush for sure. This disc can be used for people who like contouring. I don’t really like the look of contouring. Or should I say the overly contouring that some woman do. I like a much more natural look. I use it more less to add touches of color here and there to my face after my foundation/powder is done. The pink tone is so perfect as blush. Makes my pale face look like Snow White with the perfect tint to my cheeks. Sometimes if i am looking for a less pink look I mix the bronzer and the pink together. That is pretty much the extent I go with bronzer. I use the illuminating powder like fairy dust to add a touch of sparkle to my cheek bones, forehead and chin as hi light. It also works great as a base for eyeshadow.

Vitality Lip Flush in Je Ne Sais Quoi:

vlipWhere has this miracle in a tube been all my life?  With dry skin comes dry lips. Which is also a pet peeve of mine and causes me to be very picky about lipsticks. It adds moisture to your lips with out having to reapply due to over usage (chapstick addicts rejoice) through out the day. This is the perfect go to when you want just a natural everyday look. The crazy thing is that even though its like this translucent pink color in the tube it has this magical way of bringing color and life to your lips! More like makes your natural lip color look amazing. I now keep this on me in my purse at all times. Anxious to try the other colors.

Hello Lashes Mascara:

hellolashWas I looking for a magic wand that makes my lashes bigger and thicker. No. You know why.. because NO mascara really can do that. All mascara has to do to make me happy is go on with the best precision, not clump like you have bat poop on your lashes and not flake off all over my face. This mascara passed all these tests for me. I was mainly impressed with the wand brush and the way I can use the end to separate my lashes if needed. I also am not experiencing any of that annoying excess clumping of product on the edges of the trial bottle either. So far it’s a winner in my book and I have nothing negative to really say about it except that this is the only product in their line that they claim has gluten in it.

And to show you just how great these products are. mealiceThis photo of me was taken around 6:00pm. I know this because it was in our hotel room right before we were going to get in line to meet Alice Cooper at Days of the Dead. This face makeup was applied at around 9:00am. The only thing I had to reapply was my lipstick which was not a part of this line.

Other parts of my makeup that were not apart of this line were my eyeshadow and eyeliner. Seeing all of their products are cruelty free, I also plan to try their No Tug Eyeliner once I run out of my favorite NYX Glide On Pencil (hooked on Gunmetal). I also would like to see where their Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Trio in Pretty In Plum compares to my favorite (and getting harder to find) Ulta Plum Gorgeous Eyeshadow Duo as well as my back up choice  e.l.f Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Lavendar Love. If I can switch all my every day use makeup products over to one brand that would be amazing! Now mind you I have a drawer of various makeups but having a go to for all of your everyday products is always a plus! It makes it less stressful when you run  out of something.

Have a product you think will impress me enough to make it to my Raven ReviewsContact me to discuss details. Please note I only post positive reviews of products here. This Eulogy Blog is mainly for my art and I keep these special posts strictly for products I feel are worth sharing and that I actually will use and buy. If the product does not impress me and does not make it to be featured don’t worry….. I will still send you detailed direct feedback of your item so that nothing negative is posted online and you can use it to improve your product.

Stay Spooky!
