If you recall, back in November I made Mummy and Me Dead Girl Decay barrettes as a baby shower gift for my cousin’s girlfriend and their soon to be baby girl Mia. Here is a photo to refresh the old memory…
Well I bring this up because today I was tagged on Instagram in the most adorable photos of Mia. She finally has hair and therefore was able to wear her Sugar Skull barrette for her 10 month photos. How perfect that it’s during my favorite month and time of year. And a purple jack o lantern as a photo prop. How freaking adorable!

I apologize for being M.I.A, I have been working on a very large commission painting and trying to get it done by it’s deadline. It’s consuming my every free minute. However as soon as I received these photos I knew I had to stop for a while and share them.
LeAnne reached out to me after I announced the creation of my S.O.P.H.I.E Lancaster Foundation barrettes. She asked me to hold one of them for her before they sold out. See she was not only a supporter of the foundation but also a close personal friend of Sophie’s. On top of it she was getting married in a few weeks and wanted to wear it so Sophie could be a part of her big day.
“Thank you again so much for saving me one it meant the world to me to be able to wear it for my big day” – LeAnne
Doesn’t the barrette match perfectly with her flowers and their accessories?!
Congratulations LeAnne you look beautiful. I am honored that something I created could bring you closer to your departed friend. Especially on such a very meaningful occasion.

This is a shout out to Nadine all the way in the UK. She not only gave me a 5 Star Review on Etsy today, but she also submitted this beautiful photo of herself wearing her S.O.P.H.I.E Lancaster Foundation barrette.
Doesn’t it look perfect in her ravishing red hair. I just love it.

Tom (a past customer of mine) contacted me recently asking if I can do another portrait for him. I had drawn a memorial portrait of his niece, Audra 4 years ago and he said he immediately thought of me when he decided to have a 2nd memorial portrait done. This time it would be of his pet wolf named Possum. I was honored he came back to have me do yet another meaningful piece and after seeing photographs of his unique and captivating pet, I became instantly excited to work on it. After finishing the portrait the other night I emailed Tom the first draft. I couldn’t be happier when I saw his response in my inbox. It said….”I LOVE IT!”
Last night I put a protective spray on the portrait and tonight I am getting it ready to ship out. I can’t wait to hear what Tom thinks of it when he sees it in person.
Memorial portraits are a wonderful way to pay tribute and keep the memory alive of someone we love. I hope that this portrait of Possum brings some peace to Tom during this time and he can look at it and think back of all the wonderful times he spent with his beloved pet.
