I love all my Freaky Fanatic submissions but this one takes the (space) cake! I received a message via Etsy letting me know that the custom Star Wars Greedo Barrette arrived safely to the UK for the holidays. Knowing this made me happy, but what was attached to the message made me even happier. Check out this incredible Happy Customer photo I received.
You can see Greedo and more of my Freaky Fanatics on my official portfolio website. Don’t forget to also submit your photos so you can be featured as well. If you are chosen you will receive an undead discount code for all future purchases in my Etsy shop! Camera shy? No worries. Get creative like this client did!
I love return customers who ask me to make custom themed pieces of wearable art. I can’t name the client here due to gift giving for the holidays but he has given me permission to post it so I can share it with all of you.
The client contacted me asking me to make a barrette for a Star Wars fan who loves the character Greedo. My creative mind went from super excited, to brainstorming, to ordering supplies and then to creating. This was the end result…
The client and I were very happy with how it came out. Now he has a one of a kind gift to give during the holidays that you can’t find at any store. The person receiving the gift will have a unique piece of wearable art that no one else will have (because even if I am commissioned to make another one… no 2 will ever be exactly alike).
If you are looking to have a custom themed barrette made please contact me. You can see more examples of my Dead Girl Decay creations on my portfolio site. Feel free to also browse pre-made ready to ship items in my Etsy shop! Lots to choose from for gifting!
As most of you know from my past blog announcements, I am now offering clothing items featuring my artwork in my Etsy shop. I had also mentioned that it would take me some time to get all the items posted because I needed to make mock up designs for all of them and then get them all added to the shop.
Well…… I am excited to say that there are now close to 30 shirts available!!
Each shirt is listed as a unisex t-shirt available in S- XL. As the artist, I also chose the color shirt that I felt coincides and brings out the art piece best. This was a lot of work as I would create a mock up to be sure I liked the color and then if it wasn’t good enough would keep creating mock ups until I was happy with the outcome.
However, if you like the design but wish it was in a different colored shirt, style (tank top, womens fitted, long sleeve etc.) or size (youth, XS, XXL etc.) let me know! I have already customized shirts for customers. This has included making pink shirts black for men. Making them in XS Women’s Fitted style for smaller frames. I have even added the title of the art piece to one of them for a customer! Contact me through Etsy or my website to see how custom we can make one for you (based on product availability). When you rock my work I want it to be as unique as you are!
So I have been wanting to do a split face Batman portrait for a long time. I always imagined that if I did draw it I would choose my 2 favorites……Michael Keaton and Adam West. Well the best opportunity presented itself to me and pushed me forward to get this portrait done and off my bucket list. That inspiration was my best friend Regina.
See Regina has been a friend of mine since freshman year of high school. I am the fairy goth mother (aka godmother) of her daughter Ava Nicole (see that middle name.. its after me). She was the maid of honor in my wedding.. although she didn’t end up making it down the aisle as she was in the hospital having Ava ha ha. Miles apart or time passes and we are still just as close as we ever were. We have been through so many fun times, got each other through the worse of times and have shared so many milestone moments.
Well, Regina is going through one of those milestone moments right now with the purchase of her very own home. She has been a renter for many years and can finally purchase a house. Knowing her for so long I know what a huge step this is for her and I am super proud of her. I decided to make her the most unique house warming gift I could think of. Seeing she is the biggest Batman fan I know and has been for as long as I have known her, I decided to push myself to do that Batman split portrait for her! All she knew was I was making her something for a housewarming gift but didn’t know of what. That was until I finished it and sent her a photo of it today.
Her reaction “OHHHHHH my god! I LOVE IT!”
I call it “I Am Batman” (as Regina and I both feel these 2 are the real Batmans ha ha). It was done in pencil, charcoal and pastel chalks.
I am looking forward to giving it to her in person this weekend! Prints and t-shirts will be available in my Etsy Shop for you fellow Batman geeks out there!
