Creature Feature: Beetle House LA

5

Could not be more excited or honored. Boxed up my ORIGINAL “What Nightmares Are Made Of” charcoal and pencil drawing to be shipped off to the new Beetle House Bar/Restaurant opening in Los Angeles next month. Their first location opened in New York and was such a success they are opening up a 2nd location. My piece will be displayed on the walls with other Tim Burton inspired art.

I was skeptical to send off my original at first because it’s a very meaningful piece and I worked really hard on it. However the more I thought about it the more I realized it needed to be a part of this amazing project instead of tucked away in my portfolio for no one to appreciate. Yes I was dreaming of one day giving it to Tim Burton himself. But let’s be honest.. the chances of that happening (even though I am a dreamer) are not very likely. The whole point of the piece was to express how much Tim Burton has inspired me as a artist and a person. Which is the exact vision behind Beetle House. I feel it will be at home there and who knows maybe some how Tim himself might finally get to see it.

Speaking of seeing it… if you live in the area or travel there make sure to visit Beetle House and snap a photo of yourself with the piece on display! I would love to collect photos of people enjoying the piece in person there. They are currently already taking reservations online!  I myself hope to one day travel there so I can see it on display and also take in how incredible Beetle House is. My only fear is I may never want to leave 😉

Spitting Image: Limited Edition Framed Prints

1

When I vended the Hardcore Hearse Club show in June I decided to display and sell my portrait prints framed. However I wanted to be more creative about it. I didn’t want to just put them in frames. I wanted to add my artistic flare to them. I also wanted to make them limited edition so that they were one of a kind to whomever bought them.

So what I did is I purchased unique frames from thrift stores and completely up cycled them by doing what I do best….. I painted, decorated, etc each one of them to coincide with the theme of the artwork.

Since they were such a hit I have decided to continue doing them. I have also decided that when I am not vending they will now be available in my Etsy Shop.

If you go to the Spitting Image page of my portfolio site you can see the ones that I have made so far.

If you go to the Spitting Image section of my Etsy Shop you will see which pieces are currently available for purchase!

Please note that the Exorcist/Regan piece is currently listed under the Back Bone section because I always donate to the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation whenever I sell a piece of my work that is inspired by her.

Also the Lily Munster piece is still currently available. Please contact me directly if you are interested in this piece.

Etsy rules advise against posting Munsters related items on their site. Despite the fact that my piece is one of a kind and not a direct replica I still do not risk it out of respect of their wishes. So if you are interested in this specific piece (or just a print of it) I can work with you via PayPal. Please note I have gotten a lot of inquiries both in person and online for the framed version. So if you want it I would definitely act fast and contact me!

Remember all of these pieces are limited edition because the frames are up cycled and no 2 will ever be the same! If you are interested in a print that does not currently have a custom up cycled frame option contact me and we can work together to make one custom for you!
