This is one of the few and precious photos I have of my Mom holding me as a young batling. The look on both our faces says it all. Her looking so proud and me looking so happy.
Happy Birthday to the woman who in more ways than one, shaped me into the strong woman I am today. You are forever missed but never forgotten. Your legacy lives on in Mike and I because you gave us a solid foundation to live by. We will always be eternally grateful and proud for having such a courageous, beautiful and loving woman to call Mom.
I just want to take a moment to wish one of my favorite people a Happy Birthday!
Sid, Thank you for making all of these amazing memories possible for Frank and I! You are respected and loved beyond words. We wish you nothing but happiness today and always!

Ok so I can finally post the irony of the picture in yesterday’s post…
I was in the middle of posting it when I realized I am the homicidal maniac LOL. All along for weeks I had plans to make my brother’s birthday cake and here the post said somewhere out there is a homicidal maniac with a cake for him ha ha. I couldn’t add it to the post because I was determined to surprise my brother and make him a Eddie Van Halen inspired cake. I figured for his 40th it had to be pretty special and he really loves Eddie Van Halen.
I was really happy with the way it came out because I don’t normally decorate cakes. I have done a few in the past but it’s been a really long time. I was even happier with my brother’s reaction to it.
The cake itself was red velvet with Dr. Pepper (instead of oil and eggs) and the frosting was red vanilla frosting (thank god it’s Valentine’s day time and this was at the store because making that would have been a bitch). The black and white stripe designs inspired by Eddie’s guitar were just regular decorating icing from Michael’s. The cake was really moist and actually really good. I was nervous how it was going to come out cause I used the whole boxed cake mix with pop concoction.
Right after I finished decorating it.
Right before the candles were lit

This post is dedicated to the coolest big brother a girl could ever ask for! My brother Mike has been there for me through it all. From putting the fear of death in bullies when I was a little kid to reminding me I am a soldier and to keep fighting no matter how hard things get through out the years. He has been a huge influence on making me a stronger person. A person that doesn’t take shit from anyone. A better person. I will always be eternally grateful to him for that. Mom would be so proud of where we both have come. And even though I stole your 6th birthday from you by being born ha ha and now Jason Voorhees is stealing your 40th we both hope you have a killer day!
I just realized some extra added irony to this picture that I can’t wait to share in a later post.
Ok… super excited about this post. I just gave my Dad a portrait I did for him of Big Daddy Roth holding Rat Fink for his 60th birthday. Since it was a milestone birthday I wanted to give him something special. I know that my Dad has always admired the works of Big Daddy Roth and it has been an inspiration to him in his own artwork.
Seeing my Dad has always inspired my art and has taught me so much, I came up with the idea of drawing this for him. I also just love the Fink philosophy of “Fink Differently” and wanted to add that in. As you all know I am definitely “different” not only in my art but my entire life style ha ha.
Here is the finished piece…
and of course some great shots my husband took of us tonight when we gave it to him at dinner..

And for all you Freaky Fanatics: Keep coming back here for updates! I am working on a magical new portrait piece (and this post pretty much gives it away!) 😉
My Goddaughter Ava Nicole is turning 4 this year! She is having 2 birthday parties and one of them is Strawberry Shortcake themed. I designed this to be used for the party’s Facebook Event Page…..
