Last night we were tuned into Ink Master and a commercial for the future episodes of Ink Master Angels came on. I screamed out “HOLY SHIT! THAT’S MY BARRETTE!” My husband then re-winded our DVR and low and behold there was the incredible Kelly Doty on our TV screen, rocking the Dead Girl Skullerfly barrette I made and gave to her at last year’s Villain Arts Chicago Tattoo Convention.

If you are not familiar with the show, here is a great video used to market the new season. It’s of the tattoo artist hosts/judges being asked about their take on fashion. It really sums up why I wanted to make and give Kelly a custom piece of my Dead Girl Decay line! When I made it I was inspired by who she is. Hence all the fun green tones I used. Not only is she an amazing artist, whose work I admire so much (would be a dream come true to be tattooed by her), but I thought she would really appreciate my creepy cute creations due to her eclectic goth style. This was definitely confirmed by her reaction the day I gave it to her, but seeing her wearing it on TV really makes me honored to know I am a part of what makes her so unique and amazing.

Make sure to tune into this season’s Ink Master Angels so you can see it for yourself! I already watch it every week but am now anticipating it even more!
