Dead Girl Decay : Game Over Man!

0

Spooky season is upon us and that is why I spent a majority of my weekend in my art studio working on commission orders. As most of the items I was working on needed time to sit and dry I decided to take the opportunity to make another Horror Villain Icon Dead Girl Decay barrette.

After creating my “Ugly Mofo” Predator barrette I knew I had to make another one inspired by their nemesis. I also decided to make Private Hudson proud and named it “Game Over Man!”

The center features an up-cycled Alien action figure head surrounded by a multitude of flower petals with each representing the color and feel of the Aliens movie franchise.

For those of you that are fans of the film this is a Limited Edition creation so there is only one pre-made and available in my online Etsy shop. It will soon be available to purchase in person when I make my next art drop off at Closet Collectibles in Crete IL. Love it but you don’t wear barrettes? No problem! Many of my customers clip these to things in their home making them unique additions to their horror and sci-fi collections and decor!

Dead Girl Decay : Ugly Mofo

1

I was working on a handmade gift in my art studio over the weekend and got a vision for making another Horror Villain Icon Dead Girl Decay barrette.

This time I was inspired by the movie Predator. I call it “Ugly Mofo” (I think Dutch would dig the name).

The center features an up-cycled Yautja action figure head surrounded by a multitude of tropical flower petals with each color representing the heat sensory they use to track their prey.

For those of you that are fans of the film this is a Limited Edition creation so there is only one pre-made and available in my online Etsy shop. It will soon be available to purchase in person when I make my next art drop off at Closet Collectibles in Crete IL.

Remains: Pumpkin Carvings 2014

0

Saturday was our annual pumpkin carving night with our friends.  Sometimes I like to use my creative skills to come up with my own stencil instead of using one off the internet or in the books you get at the store. You can see ones I have created and carved on the Remains page of my website. If I am not feeling it or am in love with a stencil I find online then I go with that instead. It’s all in how I am feeling that year.

This year I decided to go with one from my favorite stencil sites called ZombiePumpkins.com. I believe I have mentioned them before in past carving posts because we tend to use them every year for our pumpkin carving parties.

If you have not already heard and are looking for some inspiration for carving. My husband’s band Axe Man’s Bridge is doing a pumpkin decorating/carving contest. The pumpkin has to be somehow be Axe Man’s Bridge themed. Check it out on their Facebook page and their news blog!
