Spitting Image: Mommy Weirdest

0

Time to check another vision off of my artist bucket list. This time it’s my all time 2 favorite TV Sitcom Moms.  They are beautiful, mysterious, sexy, cookey macabre moms that goth girls want to be like and goth boys wants to be with. They not only adorn the walls of our home but also adorn my arm as a part of my tattoo sleeve. And when they were not in character these 2 actresses were still drop dead GOREgeous!

That’s right I did a split face portrait of Yvonne DeCarlo as Lily Munster (The Munsters) and Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams (The Addams Family).

I call this one “Mommy Weirdest”……

Spitting Image: Wind Blows… Fire Burns… Water Falls

3

I remember the first time I saw Milla Jovovich. It was the early 90’s and I was watching Dazed and Confused. She played Pickford’s girlfriend… the quiet, artsy hippie chic who made the awesome Kiss props seen through out the film. michelleI also always thought it was interesting how she didn’t even need a speaking role and yet her character was so memorable she made the cover of the VHS and left an impression in our minds. It wasn’t long after that I had learned she had been model since she was a little girl. Go figure right? I mean.. why wouldn’t someone who looked like THAT not be a model!

tumblr_o2xe1gwjbi1u8n0xao1_500It was only a few years later that I got to see another side of her acting skills that would leave me in awe. The movie The Fifth Element came out and even though her speaking role was pretty much in a language all it’s own.. I still loved everything about it and her role as LeeLoo. She then eventually went on to be zombie ass kicking Alice in Resident Evil. A role I can now not imagine anyone else playing.

For many years now I have wanted to draw Milla as LeeLoo. There was just something about that character I loved most over all the others she has portrayed. The wait is now over and another portrait has been checked off my bucket list.

I call this one “Wind Blows… Fire Burns…Water Falls”

It was done in pencil, Prisma colored pencils and a touch of charcoal. If you are a SciFi, Milla or LeeLoo fan you can own a print of this piece! They are now available in my Etsy Shop. Spitting Image: 500 to 1

rz31thisAs you all know from my many posts, that I am a big Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie fan. My husband and I were joined by my brother and 2 of our friends on Sept 1st for the special 1 night screening of Rob’s new movie 31. I was immediately inspired to draw Sheri’s character Charly. I was actually anxious to draw her prior to seeing the film but then after I saw it I was determined more then ever.

This is the 3rd portrait I have done of Sheri. I have had the honor of meeting her twice and giving my work to her one of those 2 times. Maybe one day I will run into her again and be able to give her this piece as well. She is not just beautiful and talented. She an overall really sweet person and is very loyal to her fans, making her that much more inspiring to me.

I call this new piece 500 to 1. Anyone else who has seen 31 understands my inspiration for the name of this piece. Anyone who hasn’t seen the movie yet will understand it once they do.

Loves: Rose would be my bride

1

Doing some online research for a few future portraits I want to do and I could not help but bring this up. I have been noticing people have been comparing Mary Louise Parker to Elsa Lanchester (in her role as the Bride of Frankenstein).

Mind you I love Mary Louise Parker but I always said had they decided to do a GOOD remake (meaning putting good money into  it like they did The Wolfman back in 2010) of my favorite Universal Monster classic I would tell them to cast Rose McGowan. Maybe it’s the obsession that I have with the Bride of Frankenstein character and my girl crush that I have on Rose that makes me a little bias to this idea but I just think it would be incredible.

Think about it..

Am I right or am I right? I think they need me for casting in Hollywood ha ha.
