Spitting Image: Wind Blows… Fire Burns… Water Falls

I remember the first time I saw Milla Jovovich. It was the early 90’s and I was watching Dazed and Confused. She played Pickford’s girlfriend… the quiet, artsy hippie chic who made the awesome Kiss props seen through out the film. I also always thought it was interesting how she didn’t even need a speaking role and yet her character was so memorable she made the cover of the VHS and left an impression in our minds. It wasn’t long after that I had learned she had been model since she was a little girl. Go figure right? I mean.. why wouldn’t someone who looked like THAT not be a model!

It was only a few years later that I got to see another side of her acting skills that would leave me in awe. The movie The Fifth Element came out and even though her speaking role was pretty much in a language all it’s own.. I still loved everything about it and her role as LeeLoo. She then eventually went on to be zombie ass kicking Alice in Resident Evil. A role I can now not imagine anyone else playing.

For many years now I have wanted to draw Milla as LeeLoo. There was just something about that character I loved most over all the others she has portrayed. The wait is now over and another portrait has been checked off my bucket list.

I call this one “Wind Blows… Fire Burns…Water Falls”
